Safety Day 2025

Report by Mike von Holzen

Between March 1 and April 6, the annual Safetyday was held at eight ski jumps. With 318 participants and 24 speakers, Safetyday 2025 was once again a popular event.

The figures

Swissboogie in Biel-Kappelen, 48 participants

Skydive Grenchen in Grenchen , 35 participants

Paraclub Beromünster in Beromünster, 42 participants

FGS in Sitterdorf, 30 participants

PSC in Triengen, 15 participants

Flying Devil in Bex, 73 participants

Skydive Gravity, 14 participants

Romandie Parachutisme in Yverdon, 46 participants

Skydive Switzerland in Interlaken, 15 participants

The schools

The participating schools and the committed speakers are the Safetyday's capital. It wouldn't work without them. Many thanks for that.

The far-sightedness and flexibility of the schools should also be mentioned here. For example, PSC Triengen merged the Safetyday with Skydive Lucerne at short notice, as their aircraft was not yet ready for use. Or Skydive Grenchen, who dedicated their Safetyday entirely to the Caravan in anticipation of the new drop plane. Seating arrangements, exits, dangers during the exit, drop behavior, etc.

This was also the case for the Flying Devils in Bex. The high number of participants, the well-structured course with the conclusion at the training harness and the positive feedback from the participants testify to a high level of commitment and dedication. Many thanks for this.

Choice of topic

In principle, schools are free to choose their own topics. There are the standard topics and those that are recommended as key topics based on the incidents and safety survey. The inputs from the feedback forms are also incorporated as far as possible.

This means that the more detailed the feedback forms are filled out, the more jumpers take part in the safety survey and the more conscientiously the incident reports are made, the more targeted the topics for the safety day can be.

Safetyday 2026

Unfortunately, the Safetyday is not a cost-covering event. In addition to the FOCA and AXA as major supporters, Swissskydive also contributes a large chunk. However, safety is the top priority in skydiving and so the Safetyday 2026 will be held again with committed schools, experienced speakers and interested participants.

Many thanks to all schools, speakers and participants
