Each parachute kit is equipped with two parachutes, a main parachute and a reserve parachute. If the main parachute does not open properly, it is disconnected and the reserve parachute is activated. In addition, a digital opening device is installed which can automatically deploy the reserve.
Skydiving is a sport with risks. Swiss Skydive draws up directives and constantly updates them in order to be at the cutting edge of technology and knowledge. Swiss Skydive schools adhere to these directives and therefore have a very high safety standard.
You can expect to pay between 350 and 420 francs for a tandem jump. You can find the various offers on the jump sites' websites.
There is no upper limit. The oldest tandem passenger was 101 years old. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian. Some licensed skydivers are still active in the sport well into old age.
An average level of fitness is all you need to make a jump. If you are healthy and do not need to take any medication that could impair your cognition, there is nothing to stop you from jumping. Some jump sites have weight limits. Do not drink alcohol before the jump.
The excitement and the strong wind can make you feel like you can't breathe. Relax and you will be able to breathe normally.
In free fall, you accelerate up to approx. 200 km/h. This speed varies depending on body position and weight. Speed skydivers reach speeds of over 500 km/h.
With a tandem jump, you jump from 3000 - 4000 meters above the ground, depending on the jump site. The same height applies to AFF jumps. With the rice line, you jump from approx. 1200 meters above the ground.
For your first jump, you can wear normal clothing appropriate to the season. Sneakers are ideal, but please do not wear shoes with hooks. Most jump sites will provide you with a suit to wear over your clothes.
