Lena has been flying in the wind tunnel since 2020, after starting out skydiving as befits her profession. With 170 hours in the wind tunnel and a career as an instructor at the Windwerk, Lena has been an integral part of the team in Winterthur since 2022.
Being an instructor is already a pretty cool job - but there's more. The competition was the logical consequence and the freestyle discipline was the right choice. After the first SM participations in 2023 and 2024, the first international FAI competition is now coming up - the Indoor Skydiving European Championship and the World Cup in Macao from April 16 to 21, 2024.
The training workload is currently high and training takes place whenever possible. The choreography is being further improved, the moves perfected and the coordination with the music brought to the point. It takes a lot for a choreography to fit properly, for the elements to follow each other as fluidly and naturally as possible and for the impression to be created for the audience and the judges that the performer is imagining.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for Lena when she represents Switzerland in Macao and gains her first experience on the international stage. Go for it Lena! We'll stay tuned!
