Wie die meisten von euch mitgekriegt haben, gab es am 6. April einen tödlichen Unfall auf einer Drop Zone in England. Das System, das beim Unfall Sprung verwendet wurde, war ein Aerodyne Icon. Nach dem Unfall hat die BPA ( British Parachute Association) alle Aerodyne Container bis auf weiteres gegroundet. Da die Unfalluntersuchung nicht komplett Abgeschlossen ist, und noch viele Details zum Unfallhergang nicht vorliegen und geklärt sind, werden wir zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt keine nationalen Richtlinien, die über die des Herstellers sind, auflegen. Aerodyne Research, LLC hat sich am 13.04. mit einem Statement gemeldet, was ihr im Anhang findet. Sobald es neue und konkrete Details zur Unfallursache gibt, die in irgendeiner Form das Sofortige Handeln im Zusammenhang mit Aerodyne Containern verlangt, werden wir euch umgehend informieren. Weiterhin empfehlen wir die Umsetzung der Technischen Mitteilung Nr.: TB-250122 von Aerodyne, die ihr auch im Anhang findet.

As most of you are aware, a fatal accident occurred at a drop zone in UK on April 6. The system used in the accident was an Aerodyne Icon. Following the accident, the BPA (British Parachute Association) has grounded all Aerodyne containers until further notice. Since the accident investigation is not yet complete, and many details regarding the circumstances of the accident are still unavailable and unresolved, we will not be implementing any national guidelines at this time that go beyond those of the manufacturer. Aerodyne Research, LLC issued a statement on April 13, which you will find attached. As soon as new and concrete details regarding the cause of the accident become available that in any way require immediate action regarding Aerodyne containers, we will inform you immediately. Furthermore, we recommend implementing Aerodyne Technical Bulletin No. TB-250122, which you will also find in the attachment.

Suite à cet accident, la BPA (British Parachute Association) a immobilisé tous les conteneurs Aerodyne jusqu'à nouvel ordre. L'enquête n'étant pas encore terminée et de nombreux détails concernant les circonstances de l'accident restant inconnus, nous n'appliquerons pour le moment aucune directive nationale autre que celles du fabricant. Aerodyne Research, LLC a publié un communiqué le 13 avril, que vous trouverez ci-joint. Dès que de nouveaux éléments concrets concernant la cause de l'accident, nécessitant une action immédiate concernant les conteneurs Aerodyne, seront disponibles, nous vous en informerons sans délai. Par ailleurs, nous vous recommandons d'appliquer le bulletin technique Aerodyne n° TB-250122, également joint à ce document.
Solltet Ihr ins Ausland Springen gehen mit einem Icon System, bitte informiert euch vorher, ob das Land wo ihr geht, eventuell Einschränkungen hat, da z.B. Holland alles Icon I1 bis I3 Container gegroundet, in Frankreich ist es schon seit längeren nicht möglich ist mit einem Icon zu Springen wo der Cutter auf Klappe #1 angebracht ist und In Deutschland ist die Cutter Position auf Klappe #3 Pflicht.
Si vous prévoyez de sauter à l'étranger avec un système Icon, veuillez vous renseigner au préalable pour savoir si le pays de destination impose d'éventuelles restrictions. Par exemple, aux Pays-Bas, tous les conteneurs Icon I1 à I3 sont interdits ; en France, il n'est plus possible depuis longtemps de sauter avec un Icon dont le cutter est fixé sur le volet n° 1 ; et en Allemagne, le cutter doit obligatoirement être positionné sur le volet n° 3.
If you plan to go skydiving abroad and own an Icon, please check in advance whether the country you’re visiting has any restrictions, as, for example, the Netherlands has grounded all Icon I1 through I3 containers, in France it has long been prohibited to skydive with an Icon where the cutter is mounted on flap #1 and also in Germny is from now on mandatory to have the Cutter on Flap # 3 on all Icon´s.
